Be AUTHENTIC even (especially) when it’s not scheduled…
We know Roe V. Wade is under attack in a real way now that we’ve seen the opinion leak from the Supreme Court this week.
It’s weighing heavy on my mind so I cancelled the original newsletter on ✨authenticity✨ set to go out this morning and I’m using my small but mighty internet real estate to speak to the headlines.
First of all, if you’re not informed, get informed! You need to know what’s at stake for our country if legal (read: safe) abortions aren’t protected. The internet is definitely clapping back a la “blessed be the fruit”. That tracks with 70% of America supporting safe and legal abortions.
Next up, please be conscious about including all genders in your arguments for choice because it doesn’t just affect “women”. People of all genders need & have abortions.
If you have a platform, use it. Apoliticism in life and business is dying. Make a point to be on the right side of this integrated, whole-self movement. There is power in speaking your truths, folding in your beliefs, and showing up authentically. Don’t shy away from the engagement. Don’t do nothing. Learn, iterate, do better, repeat.
Finally, you MUST vote in the midterm elections in November. If there’s one silver lining to all this, let it be that our 🤬rage🤬 is renewed. The truth is, that might actually help us in about 200 days.
To that☝︎ point, if you want to do ONE small thing today to affirm your literal and energetic position on the matter, please put November 8, 2022 on your calendar so you don’t forget to vote. If you have a job that you’d have to leave to vote, schedule that time off now. If you might forget because you “just don’t pay attention to the news”, 🙄fine🙄. But put a reminder in your phone (or written calendar) to go vote that day. There are also primaries happening between now and then that would benefit from your prepared, informed vote.
