Our Circumstances ≠ Our Experiences.

Transcription of audio:

Let's talk for a moment about the difference between circumstances and experience.

These two things are super different from one another yet we often co-mingle them in our minds and it complicates our lives.

Our circumstances are logistics. They are the tangible parameters we are existing within but our experience is how we respond to those circumstances.

So if someone says to me "I am unhappy, I'm not enjoying my life... I'm exhausted." Our inclination—our NATURAL inclination might be "I must quit my job" or "I need to leave my marriage" or any number of circumstances that you might be inclined to change.

And I just want to remind you today that *nothing can change and still you can live in a completely different experience*.

You do not have to change your circumstances in order to change your experience.

Experience, for better or worse, as hard as it is sometimes—is choice. How do you want to experience the circumstances that you are in?

Now it may be that you need to change your circumstances—that's okay.

But I just want to remind you that is not always the answer.

I want you to think about this the next time you're struggling with any aspect of your circumstance.

How can you engage in a more conscious way with your experience despite whatever those circumstances are?

What would happen if you changed nothing?
